Duties:

The holder of the position will be responsible for management of all engineering functions related to the mobile maintenance of the entire wheeled equipment fleet on the mine site.

Responsibilities:
- Take the necessary steps to ensure maximum availability of fleet;
- Implement and sustain MMS or CMMS systems to derive full value of such systems. Pursue best practices and constant improvement to any maintenance practices implemented;
- Execute all strategic plans made by management;
- Conduct daily physical plant inspections to ensure a safe working environment;
- Implement and manage systems – ISO14001;
- Implement maintenance strategies, budgets and plans to ensure maximum cost effective fleet availability;
- Monitor costs incurred by the section and find dynamic cost effective solutions to reduce expenditure;
- Minimise plant downtown and reduce production losses;
- Report accurately on costs and take the necessary steps to eliminate wastage;
- Conduct inspections of health and safety conditions and risks in the working place, report and correct sub-standard item/conditions/risks and unsafe acts;
- Ensures compliance to relevant Policies, Procedures and Codes of Practices or as per National Legislation and requirements;
- Implement employee performance management process to ensure that employees and contractors comply with safety standards that exceed industry practice and any applicable legislative requirements;
- Re-align the maintenance teams on a regular basis to improve teamwork;
- Monitor performance of individuals and address outputs according to findings. Ensure proper individual development and mentoring programs are in place;
- Compile training matrix for the section and develop the necessary training courses and programs, in line with training section and mobile maintenance requirements;
- Manage contractors; ensure that contractual obligations are met and services are provided as per contract or requirements.

Requirements:

- BSc Diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering. Related business studies will be advantages;
- Experience in the mobile maintenance/engineering environment on a mine from 10 years;
- Experience managing of mobile maintenance team from 3 years;
- Good understanding of the required maintenance on the OEM equipment;
- Cost consciousness and ability to drive productivity improvement initiatives;
- Safety consciousness;
- Ability to react pro-actively to any deviations from planned activities;
- Strong leadership skills and organisational skills;
- Working knowledge of the development of National employees and the development of succession plans;
- Fluent in English and willing to learn French;
- MS Office skills, SAP knowledge would be preferred.

- Office location: Bissa Gold mine, Centre-Nord region, Bam province, 100 km north of Ouagadougou;
- Working schedule: 6 weeks on - 3 weeks off rotational basis;
