Duties:

a:2:{s:4:"TEXT";s:2315:"The main duties of the successful incumbent will be to develop and design the medium-term mine and dump plans and plan the mining schedule; to handle complex technical assignments; to analyze current engineering processes, systems and procedures, report shortcomings and suggest improvements to optimize the mine.
This role reports directly to Chief Mining Engineer.

Responsibilities:
•    Ensure the mine plans complies with Company health, safety, environment and community policies
•    Review and identify any shortcomings and suggest improvements to existing  processes, systems and procedures
•    Contribute to the implementation of new systems and processes and provide guidance, auditing, and analysis support to the chief Mining Engineer.
•    Recommend ways to improve support for operations by changing policies, processes, standards and practices
•    Work without supervision and provide technical guidance on developing, monitoring, interpreting and understanding policies and procedures, and aligning to organizational strategies and objectives, when required
•    Organize and prepare complex documents by using multiple computer applications (such as Microsoft Office), while also gathering and summarizing data for monthly mining reports
•    Develop  the medium-term mine plans, according to targets discussed
•    Optimize medium-term mine plan / schedule, by using relevant software
•    Develop and/or deliver elements of a strategic planning system
•    Analyze specified problems and issues to find the best technical and/or professional solutions, as and when required
•    Use comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently, while providing guidance and training to others on planning, organizing, prioritizing and overseeing activities to efficiently meet business objectives
•    Track budgets and bring variances to the attention of Senior colleagues, while working within established budgeting systems
•    Deliver specified outcomes and/or provide support services within a designated area of audit control by working within established systems
•    Use comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently on costing, budgeting and finance tasks, while providing guidance and training to others

Requirements:

a:2:{s:4:"TEXT";s:582:"•    Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering
•    At least 8 years’ experience in a Mining operations and production planning environment
•    Must have at least 5 years open pit mine planning  experience
•    Must be hands-on in production planning and control
•    Knowledgeable in relevant mining software ( Whittle / Talpac / MineSched / Surpac / Datamine) in an opencast planning role
•    Must have previous expat experience working in remote locations
•    Good proficiency in English and cross-cultural communication skills
•    French language skills will be preferred but are not essential";s:4:"TYPE";s:4:"TEXT";}

- Location: Burkina Faso, Centre-Nord region, Bam province, 100 km north of Ouagadougou;
- Working schedule: 6 weeks on  - 3 weeks off rotational basis;
