Itinerary / Airport arrivals / Logistics from Ouagadougou
The mine is situated about 100 km north from Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso. The road to the mine is paved, and it takes approx. 2 hours to get from the capital to the site.
Air tickets are supplied and paid by the company between Ouagadougou and expat`s point of hire. Protocol team meets the employee at the airport and deals with all working visa issues.
Transfer from Ouagadougou to the site by company`s car is organized at the authorized-to-travel time.
Over-night stay at the company`s guest house is granted if necessary.
National employees are transported to the site by company`s buses on regular basis either from Ouagadougou or from nearest villages (Kongoussi, etc.) where they are accommodated due to their roster.
Working regime / Rotations
6 weeks / 3 weeks: The roster provides for 42-days on site, which include 38-days at work, 2-days of rest and 1 day of arrival and 1 day of departure and 21-days on leave, which includes any extra travel time that expat employees may need to get to / from home location.
Work days are 6:00 to 18:00 with one hour for lunch. Extra hours may be required when necessary.
Roster of national employees depends on the type of work they perform.
Main roster options assigned to local employees (in days): 4/4, 5/2, 5/3.
Hours of start and finish of working day, lunch break are defined in accordance with the shift.
Salary and compensation package
Company offers competitive package, that includes base salary and incentives, such as annual bonus for expatriates and quarterly bonus for national workforce, that depend on individual and company`s (production) targets achievements.
National employees are entitled to all types of indemnities on grounds stated by Burkina Faso labor legislation.
Company provides medical insurance packages for all employees, with local coverage for national workforce and with global coverage for expatriates.

Accommodation / Camp Facilities
Company offers comfortable accommodation for all staff categories. Senior and Juniors camps have various well-equipped rooms both for long stay on rotation (expatriates) and short stay (local employees who have to stay on site due to their roster). Each room is equipped with an individual air conditioning unit. Senior Camp rooms have international channels, either French (Canal satellite) or English (DSTV). Rooms are cleaned on a daily basis.Laundry service is available the 7 days of the week.
Camp facilities include:
- Senior and Junior restaurants, where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served.
- Bar that is open during the after-work hours to all Camp inhabitants.
- Shop where day-to-day necessities can be bought and where drinking water supply is distributed for free.
- Open-air swimming pool, la sale de sport.
Wi-Fi Internet services are available all over the Camp.
Health & Safety
Health, safety and well-being of Company`s employees are our #1 priority. On-site clinic is up to date and very well-equipped to tackle all sorts of emergencies, as well as day-to-day health issues. If medical condition requires, an employee will be transferred to Ouagadougou, and, if needed, repatriation on medical grounds will quickly be organized.
